LONDON-(MaraviPost)-Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘jealous’ remark on Instagram.

Rooney had earlier made a scathing attack on Ronaldo on Monday April 4, following the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the weekend.

Asked on Sky Sports Monday Night Football if signing veteran Ronaldo, 37, has worked for United, Rooney said: ‘You’d have to say no at the minute.

“I think he’s scored goals, he’s scored important goals in the Champions League early on in the season. He scored the hat-trick against Tottenham.

“But I think if you look to the future of the club you would have to go with younger, hungry players to do the best to lift Manchester United over these next two, three years.

On Wednesday, Rooney posted a photograph of himself in the Sky studio alongside Jamie Carragher and host presenter Dave Jones on Instagram.

Ronaldo then left a comment with the words ‘two jealous’ later that day.

The Derby County boss has now responded to his former team-mate at his latest press conference, saying that there will not be a player on the planet who is not jealous of Ronaldo, other than Lionel Messi.

Rooney was questioned about his former team-mate’s remark during his latest Derby County press conference, to which he responded.

“I’d say there’s not a football player on the planet who isn’t jealous of Cristiano Ronaldo. The career he’s had, the trophies he’s won, the money he’s earned.

“The six-pack, his body,’ he added with a wry smile. ‘I think every player bar Lionel Messi is jealous of Cristiano”.

Ronaldo has scored 18 times since his move back to United in the summer and is the club’s current top scorer this season.
