BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Member of Parliament (MP) for Chikwawa Nkombezi, Abida Mia on Monday, August 28, 2023, recognized 24 outstanding pupils from her constituency who have earned spots in both national and District Secondary schools, having excelled in the 2023 Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) examination.
Mia, who is also the Minister of Water and Sanitation, expressed her intention to acknowledge the contributions of various stakeholders, including parents and educators, while also inspiring others to strive diligently for academic success.
“I have personally contributed funds to procure school supplies and allowances, ensuring they are well-prepared for their secondary education.
“These youths will eventually return to our community after completing their studies and contribute to its development,” Mia said.
Chipiliro Mataka Zainga, the Principal Education Officer of Chikwawa, highlighted the collaborative efforts of diverse stakeholders, which have led to significant progress in the district’s education ranking.
Chikwawa has ascended from 30th position, among the bottom 10 districts, last year to 24th position this year.
