Malawi’s Immigration Department nabbed Burundian expatriate coach Nsanzarwimo Ramadhan for failing to comply with immigration regulations and continue working for the top league club Bullets FC without a work permit.
The Burundian was arrested at a lodge Blue Bird Motel where he is lodging but according to information from Bullets he has since been released on bail.
The Burundian coach however denied being arrested saying he was just picked for questioning as per the immigration rules being a foreigner.
“I was not arrested. Its normal routine that’s Immagration Department do all the world,” Ramadhan said.
“If I was arrested, why is it that I am here outside prison?”
He was denied that his arrest was in connection with work permit at the club since he is yet to be issued despite.
“They checked my passport and after checking my passport they released me which is the normal all over the world,” he said.
Ramadhan came to Malawi for a second spell with the club since his departure in the late 90s.
But his return was heavily criticised and the resignation of the former Chairperson Kondie Msungama has just made matters worse.
Ramadhan’s arrival at Bullets forced former coach Elia Kananji to cross the floor to their archrivals Mighty Be Forward Wanderers over pay disputes with the Burundian reportedly pocketing K1 million while he was receiving a meager K80,000 per month.
