Mayor Noel Chalamanda said insurance cover is for everyone and he believes Britam will contribute to face lifting the city of Blantyre in Malawi.
He added that Britam will contribute towards improving the economic lives of many Malawians and advised the insurance company to remain true to its brand promise.
“As per your brand promise, ‘with you every step of the way’, we will also be watching your steps,” said Chalamanda.
Chief Executive Officer for Britam Grant Mwenechanya said the company follows international recognized philosophies and that it has brought new insurance services like domestic policy to ensure that every Malawian is covered.
“We offer a wide range of insurance policies; both life and non-life and we promise to be a change in the insurance field,” said Mwenechanya.
Britam Insurance Company is a synergy of a group of companies which has sister companies in seven African countries. The company which started in 1965 was formerly known as Real Insurance Company. Britam is a short form for British American.
The event which started with a parade around Blantyre’s Central Business District finished with the Mayor providing a toast to the newly born insurance company to mark its official launch at the Delamere building car park.
