The former ruling People’s Party (PP) has fired its administrative secretary Ken Msonda for siding with former vice president Khumbo Kachali. Keneth Msonda however, who still serves as the party’s spokesperson denied the reports that he was fired.
“I resigned from the position and I have not been fired,” said Msonda. He also denied holding secret meeting with embattled former Vice President Khumbo Kachali.
Peoples Party has been alleging that Khumbo Kachali has been sponsoring and fueling divisions within the ranks of the orange camp.
Msonda who has been serving on an acting capacity for a year when he took over from Rev Peter Kaleso has been replaced by his deputy Joseph Chikwemba.
PP Secretary General Ibrahim Matola has confirmed of the development in an interview, saying its normal restructuring process within the party leadership.
Some people in the Party have been calling for the return of the founder of the party Dr Joyce Banda who has been in self-imposed exile since losing in the May 2014 elections.
