KASUNGU-(MaraviPost)-A 24 year old woman in the central district of Kasung has committed suicide by hanging herself in a tree over the alleged infidelity of her husband.
According to the inspector Harry Namwaza the
Public Relations Officer for Kasungu Police Station.
The incident happened during the night of November 8-9, 2019 at Msulira Primary School.
The deceased was identified as Faless Phiri.
It is alleged that, the woman had had a stint of tussles with her husband since 2014 until the day she hanged herself over the allegations that he was having sexual affairs with other women.
During the night time in question, another misunderstanding rose which forced the husband to request the wife to sleep in another bedroom as all had flared tempers so that they could solve the misunderstanding they had the following morning.
The woman left their matrimonial bedroom under the pretext that she was going to sleep in another bedroom but instead she proceeded outside the house without the knowledge of her husband. She was found hanging in a tree the following morning.
Postmortem results showed that death was due to strangulation.
Following the incident, police would like to advise the people to seek advice or counseling from other people or stakeholders they may have trust in rather than committing suicide whenever they feel aggrieved or dejected.
Faless Phiri comes from Chilangiza village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Chilowamatambe in Kasungu district.
