LILONGWE, (MaraviPost): Malawi President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika has made the following diplomatic appointments with immediate effect;
Mr. Khwauli Msiska has been appointed as Malawi High Commissioner to South Africa. because of xenophobia attacks in South Africa. This post is very sensitive and requires someone with exceptional skills.
Mrs. Cecilia Chazama has been appointed as Malawi Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union (AU). Cecilia Chazama is a politician in Malawi, who once served as the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, in the Cabinet of Malawi, since 24 October 2017. She was also the Minister for Civic Education in the Malawian Cabinet.
Mr Chimango Chirwa, Malawi Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union, has been recalled taking up a position in the public service.
According to a statement from the Chief Secretary to the Government, the diplomatic appointments are subject to confirmation by the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament.
