Malawi court nullifies Mangochi West’ DPP Chiwindo candidate invalid….orders MEC for re-run

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The High Court in Blantyre on Friday nullified the Malawi Electoral Commission’ (MEC) declaration that Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) shadow member of Parliament for Mangochi West Constitituency Geoffrey Chiwondo won the elections.

Making his ruling, Justice Sylvester Kalembera has since orderded a re-run of the elections.

Independent shadow MP Simeon Harrison went to the court challenging Mec’s declaration making Chiwondo winner of the polls, saying it was Harrison who won the elections.
