It is indeed a season of plenty for the people of Machinga Likwenu constituency following the commissioning of several water points by their Member of Parliament, Honourable Bright Msaka SC.
The constituency, which has remained underdeveloped since the advent of multiparty democracy in 1994, is for the first time in many years now reaping the fruits of national development thanks to their new legislator.
Msaka, who won the parliamentary seat in the May 2019 tripartite elections with an overwhelming majority, has remained true to his campaign agenda of turning Machinga Likwenu into a better place for all of its citizens.
To ensure that everyone in the constituency has access to clean potable water, the legislator has embarked on a major exercise to drill several water points across the constituency.
As part of that exercise, Honourable Msaka wound up the year 2019 with the commissioning of four boreholes for the people of Kachingwe and Namtapa villages in Chinguni Ward in Traditional Authority Sitola, and Amani and Nazombe villages in Lisanjala Ward in Traditional Authority Mkula.
These boreholes are in addition to more than 20 others that have been commissioned across Chinguni Ward, benefitting
Group Village heads Mlio, Chipamba, Chabwera, Karonjele, Kaudzu, Naungu, Nampwanga and Kwilasha. Several other boreholes have been planted at Machinga District Hospital and a number of mosques in the area.
In Lisanjala Ward, the legislator has, through an own initiative, also planted several water points across the length and breadth of the ward.
