As the nation continues to sour on the Leadership of Lazarus “Kadingus’ Chakwera, with some referring to him as clueless Lazarus, the rising related Coronavirus deaths in the country is validating to many of us that he was not fit for office.
No doubt Lazarus Chakwera is “smooth” in his talk and can really talk with fluency and conviction. He is not, however, always sincere. Malawians that are open minded have since realised the same based on so many campaigns promise which he never intended to fulfill once he ascended to power.
Like Trump who is said to have told so many lies, these things have a way of catching up and indeed the rise in the COVID-19 which he minimized as a candidate but cannot avoid as President.
As usual the man with a silver tongue thinks he can solve the problem with a speech and half-baked measures.
However, this time the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has jumped to contrast his leadership on COVID-19 with the man he ousted Arthur Peter Mutharika who immediately saw COVID-19 as a serious issue and proposed solutions.
Peter Mutharika hired 3,500 health personnel while Lazarus chakwera has proposed hiring only 1,300 personnel so they ask, who Now you know could have created 1million jobs 9mocking another one of Chakwera’s broken campaign promise).
Former President Peter Mutharika proposed reducing fuel prices , Lazarus chakwera has proposed no such reduction. For those in Msundwe, reducing fuel prices is meant to fire the slowing economic engine.
