BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and AFORD Alliance running mate, Justice Dr. Jane Ansah, embarked on a vigorous campaign tour through the Southern Region, visiting Mwanza and Neno districts.

Dr. Ansah was rallying support for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ahead of the crucial September 16 elections.

Addressing crowds of people who had patiently waited for hours along the whistle-stop tour route, Dr. Ansah delivered a message filled with hope for the nation.

She emphasized that Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was not returning for any other reason than to save mother Malawi.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Ansah paid a courtesy call on the Ngoni Chief, Imkosi Kanduku, at his headquarters in Mwanza.

Speaking to the gathered crowd at the chief’s headquarters, Dr. Ansah assured the people that under Professor Mutharika’s leadership, persistent problems such as food, fuel, and foreign exchange shortages would soon be a thing of the past.

She then highlighted key components of the DPP manifesto, including a commitment to allocate K5 billion annually for development projects in every constituency.

Dr. Ansah also pledged K100 million each year for women and youth businesses to boost economic empowerment.

Additionally, she promised free education and examinations for all primary and secondary school learners and candidates.

Dr. Ansah described the party’s manifesto as the most comprehensive plan for the country’s economic transformation.

She promised a brighter and more prosperous future under DPP leadership.

Throughout the campaign tour, Dr. Ansah engaged with communities at several key locations, including Imkosi Kanduku Headquarters, Mwanza Boma, Chifunga, and Zalewa.

Concluding Analysis

Justice Dr. Jane Ansah’s campaign tour highlights the Democratic Progressive Party’s bold vision for Malawi’s economic recovery and social upliftment.

Her promises reflect a focus on tackling the immediate hardships faced by many Malawians, including food insecurity, fuel shortages, and limited access to foreign exchange.

By emphasizing significant investments in development projects and targeted support for women and youth entrepreneurs, the DPP aims to foster inclusive growth and empower vulnerable groups.

The pledge to provide free education and examination fees also signals a commitment to breaking down barriers to learning and improving human capital for the future.

However, as with all political manifestos, the true test will be in the execution of these plans and delivering tangible results that transform lives.

Voters are right to demand accountability and measurable progress from their leaders, especially amid ongoing economic challenges.

Dr. Ansah’s tour underscores the DPP’s determination to present itself as a credible alternative capable of reviving Malawi’s economy and restoring hope to its people.

The coming months will reveal whether this vision translates into the practical changes Malawians urgently need.
