BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)–Atupele Muluzi, who is President Peter Mutharika’s running mate in the fresh presidential election, stormed the Lower Shire on Thursday and Friday in a bid to gunner support for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance.

Speaking  at Bangula Trading Center in Nsanje Lalanje Constituency where DPP and UDF supporters came in large numbers, Muluzi told the multitude to choose sustainable development and vote for Mutharika who is leading the DPP-UDF Alliance.

Muluzi also promised that in his capacity as the Minister of Energy he will facilitate the smooth implementation of the Malawi Rural Electrification Programme in Nsanje.

Parliamentarian Euriter Mtiza, who accompanied the young Muluzi, said  in 2019 people of her area voted for President Mutharika and come 2nd July they will vote for him again.

Taking his turn, Salim Bagus who is slowly becoming the political giant in the lower Shire, said  “people of the lower shire were heavily persecuted during the one party era so they must jealously guard their vote by voting for the DPP-UDF Alliance.”
