LILONGWE (MaraviPost)-Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola has fired up to bring to the August house names of members Parliament that used to siphon 400 litres of fuel daily from ESCOM and ENGECO on Monday.
Speaking in the August house on Thursday, March 10, 2022, Matola said government knows who were behind the siphoning of fuel that has the list.
He said the corrupt members will be exposed for Malawians to know who misuses hard earned taxpayers money.
The minister added that names are from past regime administration .
He said government will be reviewing contracts that were given through ENGECO and ESCOM on the past years.
Matola added that government will remove ghost companies that managed to get contracts but are failing to deliver
In his remarks Chairperson for parliamentary committee on Natural resources, Welani Chilenga said it could have been better for the minister to give the names to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) before naming and shaming in the august for the proper procedure.
