Mphepo accused of advancing nepotism

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Freedom Party (FP) whose president is Khumbo Kachali condemns the sentiments made by the Administrative Secretary for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Francis Mphepo, over development claims in the Northern Region of the country.

In a statement that Freedom Party released on 20 January, 2020, the Party has attacked DPP, saying it is a party that is founded on the principles of nepotism, tribalism and that one tribe is more Malawian than the rest of the same in the country.

The statement that has been co-signed by FP’s General Secretary, Stephen Njobvuyalema and Publicity Secretary, Venson Ngulube observes that failure of the ruling DPP to develop the Northern Region of Malawi is genetic among the top members, arguing that the Secretary General for the Party recently said the region will never produce a president for the nation until the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Apparently, Freedom Party has gone an extra mile to remind the ruling DPP and its henchmen that the development that the nation enjoys at the present is not by the Party but rather by taxes of Malawians.

Ironically, the Second Vice President for People’s Party (PP), Kamulepo Kaluwa, who is also the parliamentarian for Rumphi North East Constituency has over the weekend pomised to support the ruling party for development his constituency.

Since 2014, the ruling DPP has faced great condemnation left, right and centre for its failure to walk the talk in as far as development projects are concerned. Some quoters have said during the time DPP has been in power, corruption has been the worst.
