BLANTYRE(MaraviPost)—South Africa based Flames talisman, Frank Gabadinho Mhango, who was on Wednesday not in his usual form as the Flames were playing against Ethiopia, has reacted against the catcalls he endured from some fans during the game.
During the game, some fans booed him as he was taken off the pitch for Frank Banda.
However, speaking to The Nation Newspaper, Mhango has downplayed the booing, saying he was not bothered as even top players in the world also slump in form sometimes.
“I wasn’t bothered and I didn’t care about it. The booing did not affect me in anyway because in a game of football, you cannot be on top of your game all the time.
“Even big-star players such as [christiano] Ronaldo, [Lionel] Messi, [Mario] Balotelli and Suarez also slump form sometimes and similarly,it was just a bad day for me,” said Mhango as quoted by the paper.
The game which ended 3-2 in favour of the Flames saw Mhango, goalkeeper Macdonald Harawa and Atusaye Nyondo (despite scoring two goals) having a bad game.
