The already tense situation on Israel’s northern border has intensified, with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatening to strike Israel and Cyprus in a televised address.

Nasrallah’s belligerent rhetoric was met with a stern response from IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, who revealed that Israel possesses “infinitely more powerful tools” than its enemies are aware of.

Nasrallah’s threats came during a eulogy for a senior Hezbollah commander killed by the IDF last week.

The Hezbollah leader boasted that his organization has a “real target bank” and can hit any target in Israel, causing significant damage.

He also hinted at targeting Israeli oil rigs in the Mediterranean and warned Cyprus against allowing its airports and bases to be used by Israel.

Cyprus has denied any involvement in military operations in the region, with President Nikos Christodoulides stating that his country is committed to maintaining good relations with all neighboring countries.

The IDF has been on high alert along the northern border, with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi conducting a joint situation assessment at the IDF’s Northern Command.

Halevi emphasized that the IDF is not only focused on defense but also has many forces dedicated to attacking Hezbollah.

The situation has escalated in recent days, with Hezbollah launching drones into Israeli territory and firing rockets at Kiryat Shmona.

The IDF has responded with artillery fire and airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

The IDF spokesperson, Lt.-Col. Avichay Adraee, stated that the situation on the Israel-Lebanon border will not return to what it was before October 7, and that the IDF will continue to work to implement its missions in Lebanese airspace while expanding its freedom of action.

The threats and counter-threats have raised concerns about the possibility of an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah.

The IDF has approved operational plans for Lebanon fighting, and the situation remains volatile.

In the midst of the tensions, Israeli officials have warned against underestimating Hezbollah’s capabilities, while also emphasizing Israel’s superior military strength.

The situation continues to unfold, with the world watching anxiously for any signs of escalation or de-escalation.
