LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Kasiya Police formation has reaffirmed its newly attained Station status by electing a Station Executive Committee (SEC) during a meeting held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Kasiya Secondary School Hall in Lilongwe.
After being upgraded from a Police Post to a fully-fledged Station in April, Kasiya will cover Traditional authorities Khongoni, Kabudula, Msinde and Chiwaula.
In his acceptance speech, the maiden SEC Chairperson Edson Kalonga pledged to intensify the Community Policing forums.
Said Kalonga: “It is a huge responsibility which requires constant engagement from all stakeholders but we will not relent in producing results”.

The Vice Chair is Natiyere Chasauka while the Secretary and Vice are Jafali Fidesi and Patseni Ndiwo, respectively.
In continuation, Maria Nyanje is trusted with the purse.
The other members are: Mayankho Moyo, Kuliyani Kudooka, Dick Kakhuta, Grace Mzembe and Laureen Chinkhota.
The election returning officer, Dr Alex Chapondera who is the Regional Executive Committee Chairperson, urged the members to work as a team.
Said Dr Chapondera: “The CPF Chairs also automatically become members of the SEC Committee which is expected to drive the Station to the next level”.
On her part, Senior Chief Khongoni hailed the Committee as an antidote to criminal activities in the area.
Said Senior Chief Khongoni: ” We have had breaking offences in the recent past hence this Committee shall help our communities. I also believe that the members will exercise discipline in carrying out their duties”.
The meeting was facilitated by the Central West Region (CWR), Lilongwe Police Station and Kasiya Police Station as hosts.
The first Officer incharge for the new station is Superintendent Edward Chambakata.
The upgrading of Kasiya Police Station brings the total number of Police Stations within CWR to nine, others being: Lilongwe, Kanengo, Lumbadzi, Lingadzi, Kawale, Mchinji, Dedza and Ntcheu.
