MBC reports that The Malawi Police Service and the Malawi Defence Force have assured the general public that tight security arrangements have been put in place during and after the elections.
According to reporting by MBC The Army and Police released a joint statement assuring law and order during the entire voting process.
The statement said the Malawi Police Service and the Malawi Defence Force would provide the security and safety to the electorates and ensure that there is an environment free of intimidation and violence.
It warned all those with intentions to incite acts of elections-related violence to desist from such malpractices.
The statement urged the general public to exercise their constitutional right by coming out in large numbers to cast their vote for leaders of their choice.
