BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In an effort to improve efficiency in the management of health commodities such as drugs, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other partners on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 launched a digital system called Supply Chain System Architecture (SCSA) which will be used as a roadmap in the implementation of activities aimed at achieving the plan.

Speaking during the launch in Lilongwe, Deputy Minister of Health, Enock Phale, said the launch of the system is very crucial for the delivery of quality health care services in the country.
He said the digitisation of the supply chain systems in the country is in line with the aspirations the government of Malawi.
“The mission of government is to establish a national supply system of management information systems that allow visibility of health commodities from central level warehouses to patients through digitization.
“In short, that is End to End (E2E) Commodity,” said the Deputy Minister.
Among other things, SCSA seeks to improve tracking and tracing of health commodities from the source to the end user.
The system will also help deal with theft and abuse of health commodities in public health facilities.
