A 40 year old man identified as Kaziputa Banda is in police custody at Chintheche police for allegedly defiling an 11 year old girl.
Facts are that the suspect in the month of March 2016 defiled the victim on three different occasions.
On 31/03/2016, the victim who is a standard 5 pupil revealed to her parents all what had been happening between her and the suspect.
The parents reported the matter to Chintheche police where the victim was referred to Chintheche Rural Hospital for examination. The results showed that the girl had indeed been defiled.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court soon to answer a charge of Defilement which is contrary to section 138 of the Penal Code.
Kaziputa Banda hails from Chavula village, TA Fukamapiri in Nkhatabay district.
