Malawi police in Ntchisi hunt for grave tampers

NTCHISI-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police in the central district of  Ntchisi are looking for unknown criminals for allegedly tampering with graveyard.

The incident happened during the night of February 4 and February 5 2019 at Mikwala Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chikho in Ntchisi.

According to Gladson M’bumpha Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Ntchisi Police Station disclosed that on February 4, this year Yesani Kaliza’s wife gave birth to a baby girl and unfortunately she gave birth to a dead body and it was buried the same day.

M’bumpha added that on February 5, it was discovered that the grave was tampered with and the buried baby was taken by unknown criminals.

“Police accompanied by medical personnel from Ntchisi District Hospital visited the scene and it was confirmed that the dead body was exhumed and taken,” said the police publicist.

Meanwhile, inquiries are underway to arrest the suspects.
