Malawi University of Science & Technology closes down over students protests

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has been indefinitely closed down following students protests that disrupted examinations over fees balances on Monday.

MUST Spokesperson James Mphande has confirmed the development a while ago, saying the students have been ordered to vacate the premises by 6 PM today.

Mphande says some students will likely face disciplinary action for the protest, harassment of staff and disturbances to other students.

Students Representative Council President James Kalawa says this is a sad development to the students who are currently stranded at the campus
