LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-MaraviPost)-W2 industries has handover two laboratories for Physics and Biology worthy MK65 million to Atsikana Pa Ulendo Private School in Lilongwe.
Making the handover, Marketing Officer for W2 industries, Cathie Matura said Atsikana Pa Ulendo expressed gratitude to the school for trusting their workmanship.
She disclosed that Atsikana Pa Ulendo is the first school to buy their product in Malawi, after the donation they made to The Malawi Government through Mvunguti CDSS in Lilongwe.Matura added that modern laboratories are pivotal in enhancing the interest of girls in STEM subjects.
In his remarks ,Director for Atsikana Paulendo, Henry Mdyetseni could not hide his happiness at the acquisition of the laboratories by his school which he say will help girls to enhance their studies especially in science subjects and put his students at par with other students from well equipped schools.
Mdyetseni said with the presence of the laboratories the school will increase number of girls to be selected to the countries college.
He said last year the school managed to send 66 students to college.
Mdyetseni said the school spent MK43 million to buy laboratories materials and has urged government to invest more in laboratories.
Speaking to one of the students,Bertha Chipeta said the laboratories will help them conduct better experiments in preparation of the Malawi Nation Examination Board (MANEB) exams.
W2 is the Zimbabwean company that manufacturers, supplies and instals science laboratories in schools with operations in Zambia and Rwanda.
