The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has officially announced the commencement of the first phase of voter registration for the upcoming 2025 general elections. This crucial initiative will begin on October 21 and run until November 3, 2024, focusing on registering eligible voters across 12 selected districts throughout the country.
In a recently released communique, MEC outlined the districts included in this initial registration phase, which aims to enhance participation in the electoral process. The targeted districts are as follows:
Southern Region:
Machinga
Chiradzulu
Neno
Phalombe
Mulanje
Central Region:
Nkhotakota
Ntchisi
Salima
Dedza
Northern Region:
Chitipa
