LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-A renowned political commentator Lucky Mbewe has criticized UTM Party leader Michael Usi for his silence and absence in addressing the ongoing detention of the party’s Secretary General, Patricia Kaliati, who is currently in police custody in Lilongwe.
Mbewe, speaking to MIJ Online, expressed concern over Usi’s lack of response, stating that his silence during such a critical moment raises questions about his leadership within the UTM Party.
According to Mbewe, Usi’s failure to publicly support Kaliati or address her arrest may cause some to doubt his capability and commitment as a leader.
“This situation clearly shows that Usi is not demonstrating the necessary leadership qualities,” said Mbewe.
He argued that during times of crisis, strong leadership is crucial, especially as the UTM Party is approaching its upcoming major convention.
Mbewe’s remarks have sparked discussions within political circles about Usi’s approach to leadership and how his handling of this situation could impact the future of the UTM Party.
With Kaliati’s detention still unresolved, all eyes are on Usi to see whether he will step up and offer the support many believe is needed at this time.
