Nigerian School bus driver rapes four-year-old pupil enroute from school

A 36-year-old Nigerian school bus driver from Ogun State was arrested for raping a four-year-old pupil in the school bus.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the news in a statement on Friday, January 29.

According to Punch News, the victim disclosed to her parents that the driver of their school bus raped her on the 21st of January 2021 on their way coming from school after he dropped all other school children at their various homes.

Ogun State Police Command arrested the suspect after the mother of the victim reported the matter at Ogijo Divisional headquarters.

The victim was taken to General hospital for treatment and the doctor’s report confirmed that she had been sexually abused.

The case has been transfered to the anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.

 The Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has appealed to parents to keep their children safe away from evil men.

He added that schools must always do background checks before they employ people to protect children from such crooked men.
