President Peter Mutharika Pressed on Judicial strike by Malawi law society

President Peter Mutharika said in his quest to listen to all Malawians and various stakeholders and interest groups, met the Malawi Law Society reps yesterday afternoon. The President said he had fruitful discussions on various issues, including the Constitutional review, the Sadc Tribunal and Rome Statutes.

 

The President said Malawi Law Society leadership also raised the issue of the judicial strike and wanted to know what he was doing to resolve the grievances sooner rather than later. There was so much to talk about and we exchanged notes on many other issues. The President assurred the Law Society Leadership that the government is committed to upholding the rule of law in the country for all Malawians.

The President also said he appreciated the gifts that the Malawi Law Society executive gave him in honour of the role he played on their board.
