Public Service Vehicle graduates 15 in Blantyre

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Bus drivers who undergone Public Service Vehicle defensive driving training have been challenged to make use of knowledge and skills acquired that risks of avoidable accidents are minimized.

Chief Driver Trainer Afred Josephy Phillips said this during the graduation ceremony in Blantyre after 15 drivers successfully completed Public Service Vehicle training facilitated by National Bus Company.

The trainees who attended the training some spent 40 days  while others were on 30 days and 20 days respectively and were awarded with certificates.

“Indeed ,we are celebrating the pass out of drivers who have successfully drilled under Public Service Vehicle defensive training here at National Bus Company . Now and then our government have been complaining of accidents which would be avoided and occurred due to reckless driving on our roads .These drivers have acquired skills which will help them to be roadworthy drivers who observe the value of vehicle ,passengers and other road users like cyclists and pedestrians” Chief Trainer Phillips articulated.

“Some of the trainees when they were coming here couldn’t pass driving test at once so we had to take them from first step up to last step partaking them with knowledge and skills and indeed today we are congratulating them for their efforts and they are perfect drivers which institutions can employ”Chief trainer adds.

In his remarks ,general manager for National Bus company Vincent Patel said it is the wish of his entity to take the initiative ‘to see it growing  big’ so that the nation embrace productive and effective drivers who adhere to rules and regulations of road traffic code of ethics.

“This is extraordinary ,memorable event as National Bus Company is prolonging with its visionary concept of equipping  drivers who carry passengers countrywide   the knowledge and skills of public service vehicle defensive expertise so that Malawians have drivers they deserve”the manager stressed.

“We have invited you the media as and you are the mouthpiece of general public ,so you pass on the message of what we are doing here and the nation appreciate”Patel expanded.

Speaking at the same event ,trainee Charles Kandugu said he was glad to be part of the graduating team and that now he is a fully baked and responsible driver after undergoing the exclusive training and said, he will make use of learnt expertise.

Kandugu furthermore proceeded to call upon his fellow drivers to take up the challenge of strengthening their driving capabilities to another height through the participation in this kind of training

National Bus company organised the training at affordable cost and 15 graduates attended the training.
