Former President and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has firmly stated that the controversial electronic voting system will not be used in the upcoming elections.

Responding to a question posed by Blessings Kaimila during a recent press engagement, Mutharika emphasized that the DPP categorically rejects the use of system in Malawi’s electoral process.

He stated unequivocally that under his leadership, the DPP will not participate in any election that involves the use of the system, which has faced global criticism for alleged flaws and inefficiencies.

Turning to his party’s preparedness for the forthcoming polls, Mutharika declared that the DPP is not only prepared, but “more than ready” to contest and emerge victorious in the elections.

According to Presidential Spokesperson and DPP National Publicity Secretary, Shadrick Namalomba, the couple’s schedule reflects their commitment to the party and its development.

On Friday, November 15th, Professor Mutharika will lead the DPP NGC members orientation workshop at Lotus Hotel, commencing at 9:00 a.m.

This workshop aims to equip party members with the necessary knowledge and skills to drive the party’s agenda forward.
