Busted! Former Malawi President Mutharika’s bodyguard Chisale, DPP cadets scamper for Marep tender bids

Chisale entangled with Malawi laws

By Nenenji Mlangeni

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Latest reports available to this publication reveal that several top opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets have sprang up for the lucrative contracts that will at the end of the day, see coffers at Malawi Rural Electrification Programme (Marep) opening to pay billions of money to successful bidders.

The lucrative contracts are worth a whooping MK60 billion.

Emerging revelations from reliable sources has it that the bodyguard to former President Peter Mutharika, Norman Chisale, who is currently on court bail over the importation of cement by using TPN of the past President Peter Mutharika, is among the cadets who have submitted tender bids for the Marep contracts.

He has actually fronted certain dubious individuals to submit on his behalf.

Other top cadets who have submitted tender bids are; Former Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Charles Mchacha, Shiraz Fereira, ARK Agencies Ltd, Lozani Fatchi and Janet Fatchi. The money is never enough for these greedy thieves.

The cadets mentioned above have submitted their tender bids in a typical DPP mafia style of teaming up to loot for a purpose.

This publication is reliably tipped that DPP’s plan is to monopolize chances of winning the contracts as they have planned to at least get MK30 billion for party funding.

The style the DPP has employed is to ensure that the above mentioned cadets have submitted their bids.

The blant reality on the matter expose the DPP mafias to have already penetrated the bidding process with huge sums of monetary incentives in the form of bribes.

It has been specifically revealed that procurement officers at Marep, Lexa Gama and Patrick Silungwe have been paid hefty kickbacks already.

Their modus operandi is simple to help the top cadets to win the contracts.

These cadets at Marep are big thieves who over the years have been awarding big contracts to DPP thieves.

In many instances the work was never done but billions were paid out to cadets. One wonders why the Tonse Government is still keeping these dubious procurement officers. It is obvious and loud and clear that the rot is in procurement.

For DPP to steal the way they did it is through the procurement officers in various organisations. It is purely organised crime.

Social media has recently been awash with ‘wake up’ alerts to Tonse Alliance that DPP cadets are regrouping to bounce back, with many seriously trying to frustrate the Tonse philosophy and development agenda.

Z Allan Ntata’s Uncommon Sense: Of the DPP’s New Politics of Hate

This past week I had the misfortune of watching the two most politically disgusting video clips that I have ever had the misfortune of watching. One was of a public address van bearing DPP and UDF flags ostensibly conducting a civic education exercise promoting voter registration at a market somewhere in Thyolo. The message coming from this van, however, was the most inflammatory tribal vitriol ever uttered in the name of political campaigning.

The second was a video of a group of DPP cadets gathered together to make a video telling the nation that they will not allow who is not a Lomwe to go and campaign in their areas, and that they will subject any such non-Lomwe campaigners to violence.

The DPP obviously has decided that one of its strategies for ensuring that their presidential candidate wins the forthcoming fresh election will be to invoke tribalism fear among the people. People should vote for DPP simply because they belong to a certain tribe. Obviously trying to appeal to their sense of political logic, of assessing development prospects and leadership potential will not work. So just make them afraid and you are home dry.

There is a longstanding history of employing the fear of “the others,” turning humans into illogical ruthless weapons, in service to an ideology. Fear is a very strong tool that can blur humans’ logic and change their behavior.

Fear is arguably as old as life. It is deeply ingrained in the living organisms that have survived extinction through billions of years of evolution. Its roots are deep in our core psychological and biological being, and it is one of our most intimate feelings. Danger and war are as old as human history, and so are politics and religion.

At a tribal level, people are more emotional and consequently less logical: Fans of both teams pray for their team to win, hoping God will take sides in a game. On the other hand, we regress to tribalism when afraid. This is an evolutionary advantage that would lead to the group cohesion and help us fight the other tribes to survive.

Tribalism is the biological loophole that many politicians have banked on for a long time: tapping into our fears and tribal instincts.

At this early stage of this new politics of hate and fear adopted by the DPP, therefore, it is important to call upon the Police to apply the law firmly on any political leader promoting hate speech based on tribal and ethnic diversity. Not that I believe that the police in Malawi will actually do anything about it. The Police in Malawi seem to be ready to agree, endorse and enforce anything that the DPP as a political party comes up with when it comes to their political strategy regardless of whether or not it follows the law.

Regardless of whether my calls will be heeded or not, however, I have to express my concern over the growing tendency by political parties, especially in recent times the blatant DPP efforts, to mobilize support from citizens on the basis of tribe and ethnicity.

I am particularly dismayed and disturbed by the latest tribal sentiments uttered by officials from the ruling DPP in Mulanje and Thyolo recently, and captured very clearly on video for the social media. It is even more disturbing that these DPP cadets and supporters have not been censured or disciplined by their party hierarchy as a way of curbing the spread of hate speech and tribal sentiments. It is clear that politicians deliberately choose to ignore constitutional provisions and opt to use tribal remarks in political mobilization knowing too well that no punitive measures would be taken against them for engaging in tribal schemes to win votes. When building tribal boundaries between “us” and “them,” politicians manage very well to create virtual groups of people that do not communicate and hate without even knowing each other. It is a very powerfully dangerous political weapon.

I wish to urge the police to search the deep recesses of its conscious and find the resolve to apply the law firmly on any political leader promoting hate speech based on tribal and ethnic diversity.

The people of Thyolo and Mulanje have always coexisted, intermarried and conducted politics and business together as Malawians long before the DPP and its Mulhakho wa Alhomwe came on the scene. There was no acrimony based on ethnicity. There is no need to create one now just because of the desperation that has descended after realizing that Lomwe power is fast slipping away. Malawians across tribal divisions have always lived and demonstrated the true spirit of being Malawian based on mutual respect for their diversity. We should not let our respect for diversity be compromised simply because of political desperation.

Politicking on tribal lines has the potential to ignite civil strife and tribal wars among citizens given the multiplicity and diversity of our ethnic heritage. The new politics of tribal hatred being perpetuated blatantly and remorselessly by DPP cadets as a way of mobilizing support from citizens on the basis of tribe and ethnicity does not only go against Malawi’s social, cultural and ethnic heritage but is also against constitutional values and principles that seek to promote and uphold national unity in diversity. Such politicking has no place in modern Malawian democracy.

Malawian laws provide that political parties should promote values and principles specified in the Malawian constitution which include upholding national unity. Further, Malawian laws clearly outlaw political mobilization on the basis of religious, linguistic, racial, ethnic, tribal, gender, sectoral and regional propaganda.”

I can only hope and pray that Malawians will not feel compelled to affiliate or support any political formation on the basis of tribe or ethnicity. Every Malawian citizen has a right to support a political party of their personal choice and liking.

In order for us to build a better Malawi, we must refrain from buying into tribal politics like the ones being promoted shamelessly by DPP and its cadets.  Tribalism does not and will never improve the well-being of millions of Malawians living in poverty. As a people, we must do everything within our lawful power to preserve our unity in diversity while defending the constitution of Malawi that recognizes and embraces Malawian diversity.

This new politics of hate from the DPP is a dangerous development. Not only must it be condemned strongly, but the Peter Mutharika’s silence on the matter should be a strong signal of his indifference to our very sense of being Malawian.

DPP cadets wage war against Malawi President Mutharika’s bodyguard, Chisale….Vow to remove him

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A bandwagon of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets led by Blantyre based notorious Mike Chitenje, popularly known as Bangwe 1, have waged a war against President Arthur Peter Mutharika’s bodyguard, Norman Chisale, wanting him out of the royal palace.

According to a video that has gone viral on the social media, Chitenje and his fellow DPP cadets are seen holding a meeting whose sole agendum is demanding Chisale’s immediate surrender of duties as Mutharika’s Aide de Camp.

“If the boss ( President Mutharika) loves Chisale, he should always leave him in Lilongwe whenever he is visiting Blantyre. Nobody, among us, wants to see Chisale anywhere near the royal family. In fact, we are not alone in this war, our counterparts in Mangochi, Liwonde and Zomba are also part of us,” Chitenje is heard saying in the video.

Sharing similar sentiments are the members of the meeting who are saying they suffered a lot of ridicule and physical battles when they fought for DPP’s victory.

The members describe Chisale as a greedy person who does not pick their calls or answer any of their correspondence, simply because he wants to enjoy the royal fortunes alone, yet his fellow party loyalists are out there languishing in poverty.

The video invites more questions than answers to who is supposed to hire and fire Chisale as a presidential security talisman.

Efforts to draw Chisale’s reaction to the allegations proved futile as his phones were out reach.

Chisale is unpopular among DPP files and ranks despite that he has been out and about doing charitable activities like buying meals and different items for street kids in Blantyre and financially supporting the construction of a church in his home district of Ntcheu.

Besides being President Mutharika’s bodyguard, Chisale is Director of Security at the State House.

DPP cadets call off justice’ demos in Mzuzu

Henry Mussa leading the demos

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-The governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Friday postponed the planned ‘march for justice’ demonstrations that were supposed to be held in Mzuzu.

DPP regional governor for the North Kenneth Sanga told the local press the party will soon communicate on new dates.

The decision comes after DPP ranks filed complained that some parties have planned to masquerade as DPP supporters by dressing in DPP colours to cause violence during their peaceful march.

DPP cadets have been protesting the outcome of the Presidential polls case where Constitutional Court Judges nullified the polls.

The DPP cadets are accusing the Judges of favouring the opposition namely; Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) in the ruling.

The protest by DPP has attracted mixed reactions with many accusing the ruling party of losing the plot.

DPP Cadets are too disciplined to take part in looting says Dausi

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Publicity Secretary, Nicholas Friday said DPP Cadets are disciplined and cannot take part in violence and looting.

Dausi was responding to the allegations which MCP is saying that, people who are destroying things include shops during demonstrations are DPP Cadets.

Addressing the press at DPP Headquarters in Lilongwe, Dausi said the DPP is concerned with the cases of vandalism which some thugs are doing in the name of demonstrations.

He further warned the perpetrators of vandalism, saying that government is working with security bodies who will deal with the perpetrators.

Adding her voice, DPP Secretary General, Gresedar Jeffrey, said that DPP Cadets are under her control, hence they cannot destroy people’s property.

The briefing comes in the wake of so-called demonstrations that have led to thousands of people and many companies losing property.

Defend yourself against DPP terrorism #MalawiVotes2019

DPP Cadets
Some DPP cadets such as these were suspended

Written by Patseni Mauka

First things first. I am writing this article in my personal capacity. I am not writing on behalf of my church, family, concubines, friends or the party that I support. In my previous article, I documented the impunity that DPP cadets going by the strange and meaningless name Ana a Dad enjoy in different aspects of our society. Since I published that article, DPP thugs have carried out more terrorist acts.

Eastern-region-youth-director-Beaten-in-Mangochi

Few months ago, Malawians saw a video of a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadet, Isaac Osman, also known as Ntopwa One, suffocating a young man just for wearing opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) regalia . Until now, the police have not arrested him despite the fact that the video is still circulating on social media.

The DPP terrorists also went to Kawale police station to demand release of their friend. They harassed police officers and got away with it. Everyone was shocked to see the video on social media. If DPP cadets can harass police officers, no one is safe. Not even the police can protect us from these merciless ruffians.

Just last week we saw pictures of innocent Malawians covered in blood with faces panel beaten beyond recognition. The crime that these people committed is belonging to a party different from the roughnecks. DPP is trying to force every one to be it’s supporter. This is because DPP knows it’s popularity is very low, it can’t win elections without intimidating voters.

DPP’s aim is to make sure other political party campaigns do not reach all areas in the country. This is against the right to freedom of information during elections and is a hindrance to a free political choice. When voters are targeted with violence around elections, the consequences may be that citizens refrain from voting, or vote for a certain political party out of fear, rather than as a free choice.

The fact that DPP acts of terror are escalating shows that authorities responsible for keeping peace in the country are fast asleep or deliberately turning a blind eye. But, bonafide Malawian citizens who are suffering from these evils acts and those who are walking the streets scared of DPP terrorists need immediate intervention and advice on precautions to take against terror. I volunteer to offer some advice.

Let me start with my personal experience with bullies. When I was young, I used to be bullied because my school mates had bigger bodies than me. Every time there was a small disagreement, the bullies would threaten to beat me up. One day, a bully wanted to get a piece of my matowo wild fruit and ordered me to give him. I refused and as usual he threatened to beat me up. Tired of being threatened, I told him I would beat him back. You should have seen his face full of shock and anger.

He launched a blow at me. I ducked and threw mine which landed on his forehead. I gave him a kick and like a bag of maize, he fell on the ground. Just when I was about to finish him off, friends intervened. That was the end of the fight. Every one was surprised that little Patseni could fight. That was how I earned respect and stopped the threats.

The first thing to do when faced with acts of terror is to be prepared to defend yourself. Do not let yourself be a statistic of political violence. Life is precious. You only live once. If you die, you are gone forever and in Malawi, your killers will never face justice. Your death will be an everlasting suffering for your family. Be prepared and fight back if necessary to defend yourself. Always move in groups in order to help each other fight these thugs.

Don’t count on the police to protect you. Don’t count on President Mutharika to defend you, he is the master-minder of the violence. He appointed Nicholas Dausi and Charles Mchacha to prevent the police from acting against DPP thugs.  Bring the fight to DPP and show them that we can’t just watch them beating us up. We can’t just be crying on social media. We have to do something to stop these thugs.

Having said that, experts recommend that when electoral violence takes place, adequate support is vital for the development of a well functioning democratic society and for durable peace. Strategies to prevent and manage electoral violence should focus on the perpetrators of violence as well as the perspectives of the victims of such violence.

It is recommended that a united approach to support the victims of violence is important so that those affected can cope with the consequences of violence. Strategies directed towards the victims of electoral violence can also prevent violence from negatively affecting the attitudes towards democratic politics, a necessary condition for sustainable peace. Political parties, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), religious organisations, civil society and traditional authorities should take a lead in preventing violence.

Escalating political violence worrisome, we will engage international human rights bodies – MCP Diaspora Wing warns

Kalindo

The Diaspora Wing of the opposition Malawi Congress Party has condemned the escalation of political violence across the country as worrisome and something that needs to be addressed immediately. The condemnation comes amid evidence of opposition party supporters being roughed and beaten up and their vehicles being attacked.

So far, the blame has been put on the ruling DPP cadets although Police are yet to arrest anybody. “We are strongly condemning these political attacks . This is something we don’t need ahead of the general elections if we want the election to be free and fair. Malawi is a democracy and people have the right to support whichever political party they want without fear or intimidation, MCP Diaspora wing spokesman Chalo Mvula said .

There has been a recent wave of political attacks across the country. United Transformation Movement Director of Youth, Bon Kalindo was beaten up by alleged DPP Cadets, a few days later UTM supporters in Mangochi were attacked by DPP cadets as they were going to Namwera in the district to conduct a rally. In another incident In Blantyre on Sunday night, cadets severely assaulted Edward Govati for belonging to the MCP. The escalating political violence is also said to be the reason why MCP president Dr Lazarus Chakwera suspended his planned attendance of Chilembwe Day memorial in Chiradzulo. Social Media has been awash with photos and Video evidence of many of these attacks.

The Malawi Congress Party Diaspora has called on the DPP government to bring order and make sure that Malawi continues to be a peaceful nation . “ It is unfortunate that DPP leadership is not condemning the acts of its cadets, This shows that they have no respect for democracy and that these cadets are being intentionally sent in order to strike fear in Opposition members and supporters ahead of the elections” said Mvula.

The diaspora wing also had a warning for those perpetuating the violence saying they will be held accountable. “Nobody will get away with it – those who are behind these attacks will be brought before the courts , Dr Chakwera preaches about respect for the rule of law and those deliberately doing this will have to answer “ Mvula said . MCP diaspora wing has also warned that failure to act, will lead to the diaspora community engaging with the international community and human rights organisations so that the situation in Malawi can be monitored and action taken.

Ana a Dad: Useful words for getting away with everything

DPP Cadets
Some DPP cadets such as these were suspended

Written by Patseni Mauka

Let’s begin with a language lesson. ‘Ana’ in Chichewa language means children. ‘A dad’ is a ‘chichewalized’ term for ‘dad’s’. Basically, you can call your father ababa, atate, madala, abambo-anga or adadi. Obviously, all children have a father, alive or not, known or not, onamizilidwa kapena eni eni (unknowingly someone’s children or genuinely yours). So it is funny and strange for a group of people to call themselves ‘Ana a dad’. The one who came up with this term was probably high on something. Language lesson done.

Peter Mutharika
Malawi President and DPP Leader Peter Mutharika

Having finished the language lesson, let’s look at why people would choose to be called such a strange name as ‘Ana a dad’ (President Mutharika’s children). One of the main reasons is that the name comes with benefits. The benefits are many such that these Homo sapiens don’t see the awkwardness in the name. For instance, you can beat people up for no reason and not get arrested.

But those ‘acting suspiciously’ are quickly arrested.

Some of the things cadets do using this name are mind boggling. Just using the name Ana a dadi, you can go to a police station and demand release of your friend, harass police officers and get away with it. It happened few weeks ago at Kawale Police Station in Lilongwe. Everyone was shocked to see the video on social media.

Last year at the official opening of the National Budget Meeting, Ana a dadi caused havoc. They harassed Members of Parliament and blocked them from accessing Parliament building. DPP cadets wearing black and white suits reportedly stood at Parliament entrance where they attempted to bar Members of Parliament for Blantyre City East, Noel Masangwi and for Mulanje West, Patricia Kaliati from entering Parliament gates. The members had to struggle to get through.

Jeffrey wa Jeffrey,
DPP Secretary-General Gridezer Jeffrey wa Jeffrey,

The cadets also slapped Times Group’s cameraman, Douglas Banda, who was strategically positioned to take visuals of the fracas. It reportedly had to take the intervention of Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) journalist Daniel Mababa to stop the cadets from continuing manhandling him. That happened in full view of DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey and Malawi Police Service (MPS). How did DPP respond to this? They promoted the ring leader, Dyton Mussa to Youth Director!

Ana a dad harass journalists on duty and no one can arrest them. In July last year, DPP youth cadets threatened to beat up journalists covering former minister George Chaponda’s bail hearing at Blantyre Magistrate’s Court. The journalists were covering proceedings in the bail hearing of the former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, who was arrested in the maize scandal.

As rewards for these notorious acts, DPP gives these young men jobs in different public departments and companies. One of them is Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA). Illiterate blue painted cadets work at MRA Inland Port in Kanengo as manual laborers. These cadets are so powerful that even MRA officers can’t touch them. When Ana a dad speak, the officers say, “amenewatu ndi boma” (these people are the government).

There is one more benefit for being Ana a dad. Just putting the number plate ‘Ana a dad’ you can drive a car without Certificate of Fitness (COF) or any legal  paper in town. No traffic regulations enforcement officer can impound a car with such a number plate. The result is increased risk to road users because of unroadworthy cars moving around town.

Ana a dad can also get rich with unexplained money and the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) can’t investigate them. Ana a dad can buy a 45 million Kwacha government car at 120,000 Kwacha, put Ana a dad number plate and nobody will touch them. While some government officers are fired for mixing public jobs with politics, you can work in government and do politics as long as your forehead has the words Ana a dad.

Some Ana a dad are forcing Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) and Lands officers to allocate land to them which they later sell to foreigners. One Mwana wa dad whose mother is in charge of the land ministry has promoted himself to deputy minister. He is untouchable. He flamboyantly walks in offices and orders officers to allocate land to him which he is selling to foreigners. Yet ordinary Malawians struggle for years to be allocated land. This is how we will one day wake up without land.

These are just examples. There are many cases of DPP cadets getting away with terror in the name of ‘Ana a dad’. The police fear them. The police are also victims but they simply can’t send these thugs to jail. Strangely, police are quick to take orders from DPP to arrest opposition members. When the police arrest opposition members, we are told it’s because they didn’t respect the law of the land. But when Ana a dad terrorize innocent citizens, the police just look away and calls for respecting laws are never heard. It is the same with corrupt DPP cadets who are untouchable. Malawians need to fight for a system where ruling parties should not abuse our laws.

DPP’s “landslide win” bluff is delusional #MalawiVotes2019

DPP
DPP’s arrogance and indifference prior to the demonstrations

Written By Patseni Mauka

The Malawi ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) never fails to entertain with it’s belief that it is so popular such that it will win the 2019 general elections with a landslide. DPP, a party that rode then ruling United Democratic Front’s (UDF) back into government in 2004, won by 66% in 2009, won by an embarrassing 36% in 2014 and had a meager support of 27% in 2017 (Afrobarometer) should know better that these simple figures can be interpreted by any kindergarten kid as decreasing popularity.

A latest poll on the political environment towards the 2019 Tripartite Elections which was conducted by Malawi Institute of Public Opinion Research (IPOR) shows that in August, 2018, 33% of the respondents identified with DPP ahead of MCP(31%) and UTM(17%).

Without necessarily endorsing the results of the poll, it is essential to comment on the published findings, after all they seem to have brought tremendous excitement in the country. The survey for this poll was done in August, 2018, just a month after UTM launch. The fact that such a new organization grabbed a cool 17% just a month after it’s launch should give UTM great encouragement and cause big worries to established parties like MCP and DPP.

According to DPP, this latest poll means they are on the way to a ‘landslide victory’. Unless ‘landslide victory’ has changed meaning, DPP is simply bluffing in public while shitting in their pants with worries in private. In fact this poll will cause earthquakes in DPP. DPP members will now be booking their places with other parties. This is especially so with the politicians who are used to being in government. The current results show that DPP is fast losing popularity and on the way out of government. No sane person would want to be associated with a dying party. It’s just a matter of time before we see mass exodus of members from the ruling party.

Strangely, DPP is claiming the results of a survey done nine months before election and one month after UTM was launched means UTM is not a strong contender and can’t win elections. Pure delusion! Down playing UTM’s strength has now become DPP’s main activity. If you ask DPP whether it is scared of the emergence of UTM under the excellent leadership of Dr. Saulos Chilima, the answer is always no. However, if you follow their actions very well, you will see that they are under tremendous pressure and panic.

Saulos Chilima
Manganya-with-Vice President Saulos Chilima

Actions speak louder than words. Since the launch of UTM, DPP has tried, without success, all sorts of tricks to counter UTM popularity but has always failed miserably. They have tried buying beer for people to drink near UTM rally venues. They have brought live band entertainment to counter UTM rallies. They have conducted rallies on the same dates and near UTM rally venues and even torching UTM branded cars to disturb UTM rallies but failed.

One of the latest embarrassing attempts was what they called ‘the mother of all demonstrations’ to force Chilima to resign as State Vice President. This was not the first time for DPP to organize events aimed at forcing Chilima to resign. On 27th July, 2019, some officials from the ruling Democratic Progress Party (DPP) who are also senior cabinet ministers conducted a press conference to demonize the new broom in town, Vice President of the Republic of Malawi and leader of UTM, Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima. Among other things, the minister’s main objective for calling the press conference was to force Dr. Chilima to resign as Vice President of Malawi. As expected these calls yielded nothing. It was a pure waste of time.

Last week these calls came again. They started with calls by DPP cadets on social media in form of articles and posters. This was followed by an announcement of a ‘mother of all demonstrations’ to force Chilima to resign. On the appointed day, we all waited with anticipation to see the ‘mother of all demonstrations’. When the photo’s of the demonstrations came on social media, I could not help but get embarrassed on behalf of DPP. The people who came to demonstrate could not even fill a small Mazda Bongo Minibus. It was a very sorry sight! Apart from what the statistics are clearly showing, the failed demonstration was clear evidence of loss of popularity by DPP.

Make no mistake, DPP and it’s apologists spent a lot of time organizing these demonstrations. Millions of Kwacha’s exchanged hands. The organizers promised DPP gurus that the demonstrations would be massive and would result in Chilima’s resignation. What a waste of taxpayers money!

When you analyse the reasons that DPP and it’s paid apologists are advancing for the VP’s resignation, you wonder what these people smoke. One paid cadet said the VP has to resign because it’s his ‘moral obligation’ that any person occupying his office owes the people of Malawi. These are the same cadets that never said anything when their leader, President Mutharika was caught red handed with a dubious 145 million Kwacha in a DPP account that he is a sole signatory.

AG Charles Mhango
AG Charles Mhango

The latest news is that DPP legal adviser and die hard supporter, who is also the current Malawi Attorney General, Charles Mhango has filed a notice of appeal with Supreme Court of Malawi to challenge registration of UTM as a party. High Court judge John Chirwa last Friday ordered registrar of Political Parties to register UTM within seven days and that the registration should be backdated to September 21 2018. What more evidence does one need to know that DPP is scared to death with UTM?

The painted paid cadet who is acting as an Attorney General can not differentiate between a party and government. He is an embarrassment to the law profession. He is using the Attorney General’s Office to fight battles for DPP. The sooner he resigns to concentrate on being a DPP cadet, the better.

I keep laughing when I hear DPP talking about a landslide win while at the same time trying all dirty tactics to stop serious contenders like UTM which they tremendous fear because deep down their hearts, they know their popularity is going down everyday. Only blue painted cadets can believe their bluff and delusional claims of a potential landslide win in next year’s elections. The rest of us believe that the battle for control of government next year is not over.

The man who has been loyal to Malawi President Peter Mutharika and who many accuse of being the puppet master is celebrating his birthday today and his DPP cadets are full of congratulatory messages on social media.
