BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Vice President Dr Jane Ansah was asked to speak to Jecon Church at the end of the service, as many members wanted to physically see her and even hear from her.
This was a moment of great excitement for the congregation, who were eager to hear from their esteemed guest.
She thanked Jecon Church for allowing her to come and pray, expressing her gratitude for the warm welcome she had received.
Ansah said, “I have heard all what Gogo Chalo Kuntaja has asked from government, and I will report to President Arthur Peter Mutharika for government’s action,” assuring the congregation that their concerns would be communicated to the highest authority.
Indeed, all parts of Blantyre need development, Ansah acknowledged, highlighting the need for collective effort to address the challenges facing the city.
However, she explained and reminded the congregants that the President Arthur Peter Mutharika had declared through the DPP manifesto that each constituency will be allocated K5 billion Kwacha every year for development throughout the country and for the next five years, amounting to K25 billion Kwacha.
She reconsidered that K25 billion is a huge amount for Blantyre to transform and develop, and this is going to happen, Dr. Ansah emphasized, expressing her confidence in the development plan.
She explained that all small development projects in Blantyre will be taken care of using this K5 billion constituency development fund, and it will be up to the people of this city, including rural areas, to decide and choose which development projects are needed in the specific areas, while government will focus on bigger projects.
Ansah also reminded the congregation that food aid and other relief aid is meant for the underprivileged, the poor of the poorest, and the aged, emphasizing the need to target the most vulnerable members of society.
She said, “I have not come empty handed, though I came for prayers,” hinting that there was something in store for those in need.
In conclusion, Ansah thanked Jecon Church for the wonderful prayers and praise worship songs, saying that she was leaving the church a different person, as she had been spiritually recharged.
Her visit to Jecon Church was indeed a momentous occasion, one that would be remembered for a long time to come.
