HARARE-(MaraviPost)-A female pastor in Zimbabwe has been raped and axed to death by unknown suspect after she went to the nearby bush for prayers.
The National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner, Paul Nyathi, confirmed the news in a statement.
According to Nyathi, the victim identified as Nelia Maringe aged 45 recently completed theology studies with the AFM church.
On the day of the incident, around 11am she reportedly informed her neighbour Rutendo Machapa that she was going into a nearby bush area for prayers and to fetch firewood but she never returned home.
Her body was discovered the following day by Charles Mazorodze (55) also of Grasslands farm, Marondera with an axe stuck on the left side of her head who reported the matter to the police, Newsday reported.
Her body was also half dressed with a black top and white braa on, while the lower part was undressed with underwear and black skin tight dropped to knee level when they found her.
The police report indicated that her black and white skirt was pulled up to the waist.
A written note was also recovered from the scene of the crime written “To husband mark of the beast after maths of Chihure wakandirambirei this is just not manslaughter but a violent, bruital and toxic expression of love if not passion by ex-killer Maisiri paWedza.”
Her body was conveyed to Marondera Provincial hospital awaiting for rape testing and post mortem, and meanwhile Marondera Police has launched a manhunt for a suspect.
