LIMPOPO-(MaraviPost)-The Limpopo High Court in Thohoyandou has sentenced a serial rapist to four life sentences and an additional 130 years in prison.

The National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi, confirmed the new adding that the convict, Tiyani Khosa, had been tormenting communities from Olifantshoek near Magoro village in Limpopo before he was caught.

A-31 year old, Khosa committed the crimes over a six-year period and he pleaded not guilty to all the 17 counts against him, News24 reported.

Other reports revealed that Khosa, armed with a knife, panga and firearm, would break into the homes of his victims. According to the state witness, the convict used a balaclava to cover his face when he committed the crimes.

He reportedly targeted young women who stayed alone and single parents of small children in Mamaila, Olifantshoek, Njakanjaka, Sepukubje and Masakona villages.

Commenting on the matter, Judge Frans Kgomo said the convict’s attacks were well-calculated and pre-planed.

Judge Kgomo believed there were no substantial and compelling circumstances to impose a lesser sentence than the prescribed sentence.

The sentences in the count of housebreaking with intent to rape were ordered to run concurrently with sentences of rape.
