LILONGWE (MaraviPost)—In the build-up to the Malawi’s 2014 Tripartite Elections, which saw Mutharika and DPP assuming government, one of the popular Prophets in the land, Prophet Austin Liabunya, unleashed a controversial prophecy which has been vindicated by the outcome thereto.
The Prophet indicated that Mutharika would win the elections on some attached conditions that, according to the Prophet, God wanted him (Mutharika) to sign to. The Prophet since made a public announcement that required Mutharika to meet him for his message ‘from God’. The call sparked somewhat controversy with some DPP supporters throwing the calls to a garbage bin. They condemned the Prophet excusing their leader from heading to the call.
But Mutharika chose to humble himself and submitted to the call. The two met and the ‘man of God’ passed on the ‘divine message’ to Mutharika as a favoured candidate. The message contained conditions that Mutharika was to subscribe for him to win the elections. As expected, the victory-hungry candidate accepted to adopt all the conditions.
Prophesying during a night of cross over service to the new year 2015 that took place at Music cross-roads tent in the township of Area 23 in Malawi’s administrative capital Lilongwe, Liabunya privileged the congregation with the contents of the message that was passed on to Mutharika then. According to the revelations, some of the inscribed conditions in the ‘divine package’ included the need for Mutharika not to re-marry before and after the elections; and for him to consider establishing a special branch, within government, that would look into the welfare of many religious organization operating in the country.
According to Liyabunya, Mutharika agreed to these and all other conditions (which were not specified during the service) to the extent that Mutharika even suggested establishment of full ministry that would look into the religious welfare.
Elections were held and Mutharika won accordingly. Weeks down the line of his victory, Mutharika started breaking his promise. He married even before naming his full cabinet. According to Liyabunya, Mutharika says nothing about his promised institution of a body that would take care of religious organizations in the country.Disobeying ‘God’s instructions’ in a manner that signifies a rush attack on his committed pledge.
During the service, the ‘man of God’ further unpacked a saddening message on what is to befall the Mutharika family. According to his message, there will be sickness, one after another, between Mutharika and his wife. They will be exchanging on their trips to hospitals. A persistent seesaw of medical attention!
The Prophet further claimed that things from economic and governance perspective will continue to fall apart in Malawi during the Mutharika administration. He said there is a solution but not ultimate except just to resign.
The man of God also said that there will be infighting, jostling for power within this DPP led-government such that another government will be formed within the same Mutharika government.
Liabunya also said that there will be unnecessary firing of government officials and that this will cost government a lot of money due to compensations which will come from litigations.
“Development will slow down. Our monies will be going outside the country as government will be hiring foreigners to work for us—paying them hefty salaries which they will be taking back to their respective countries,” said the Prophet.
Liabunya also reminded the listening congregation that he pointed out in his prophecy that in 2019, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) would return to power with the leadership of its incumbent President, Lazarus Chakwera. The Prophet announced that under Chakwera’s government, Malawi will experience sustained stability of the Kwacha and the country will record improved economy. However, the ‘man of God’ was quick to dissolve any possible celebration to the good news of improved economy by asserting that Chakwera will, himself, turn out a dictator.
“But lo and behold the President then, who will be Lazarus Chakwera, will be too judgemental in his decisions. He will be a dictator,” said the Prophet to the confusion of the ‘divine assembly’.
During the service, the man of God also made a controversial Prophecy that Leader of the main opposition Party in Zambia Hakainde Hichilema will win the 20th January presidential by-elections and become the President of this neighbouring country.
