BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will on June 24, 2023 hold a National Governing Council meeting that is to set dates for its extra-ordinary elective convention.

A statement from the party signed by its secretary general and spokesperson Grezzelder Jeffrey and Shadric Namalomba respectively indicates that this was agreed upon during a Central Meeting held at the Page House on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

“The Central Committee resolved that the party shall hold the National Governing Council meeting on 24th June, 2023 at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi,” reads part of the statement.

This is the first time Jeffrey and Namalomba signing together press statement to the public.

The move has excited many party followers as NGC agrees on common goals after years of tussling since losing 2020 presidential polls.
