LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Police Service (MPS), through the cybercrime unit, have arrested Kondwani Mukoma, a 25-year-old student from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) for creating a fake Facebook page bearing the name of Former Speaker of Parliament Henry Chimunthu Banda.
National Police Publicist, Peter Kalaya says the suspect used the fake Facebook account to entice girls to have a relationship with his nephew (himself) since he was pretending to be Banda.
“The suspect later blackmailed his victims by leaking their nude photographs as well as sleeping with some girls who thought he was indeed Banda’s nephew.
“The suspect is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges which include personification and spamming,” said Kalaya.
