Nine Malawians feared dead, 14 missing in RSA’s collapsed building

PRETORIA-(MaraviPost)-Nine Malawians are feared dead while fourteen are missing after a building under construction collapsed in George Town, South Africa, last week.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Charles Nkhalamba disclosed that 34 Malawians were trapped in the ruble.

Nkhalamba says 11 were rescued; one is still in the hospital, while another has been discharged.

According to Nkhalamba the Malawian embassy is working with the building’s contractor to help the injured people and repatriate the bodies of people whose relatives cannot afford.
