Super league clubs yet to receive 2024 prize money

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Outstanding teams in the TNM Super league 2024 season are yet to receive their prize money two months after the league concluded on December 14.

Champions, Silver Strikers FC and runners-up Mighty Wanderers confirmed to the nation on 12th February 2025, Wednesday that they are yet to get their dues.

The central bankers are waiting for their mk100 million prize while Wanderers will get MK40 million.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC will get MK30 million for finishing third.

Silver Strikers chief executive officer (CEO) told the nation, “We are yet to get the prize money and we are eagerly waiting for it from SULOM. The longer the money delays, the more pressure we have on our hands as we already budgeted for it.

“Our players cannot wait to reap the fruits of their sweat and the delay has the potential to affect their morale”.

Nomads CEO, Panganani Ndovie said players have been enquiring on the same but told them to be patient enough.

“We have tries to follow up with SULOM and they have been telling us that they are waiting for the prize presentation ceremony which keeps on being shifted. Hopefully it will be held soon”, Ndovie told the nation.

TNM plc brand and Communication manager, Limbani Nsapato said they are planning to hold the prize presentation event during the first week of March.

Among other prizes will include; most improved team which will walk away with MK4 million, improved club supporters to get MK1 million.

In individual prizes, the player of the season pockets MK3 million while the top goal scorer Isaac Kaliat of Mighty Wanderers, will get MK2 million. The best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, coach and rookie of the year to get MK1 million each.

The TNM Super league package was increased from MK150 million to MK500 million per annum for three years, in April last year.
