JCE exams to proceed

By Jones Gadama

The Ministry of Education has announced that the Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations will continue as scheduled tomorrow, June 9, 2025, despite the declaration of the Eid Ul Adha holiday.

In a statement released by Secretary for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Rachel Chimbwete Phiri, the ministry has confirmed that the examination schedule remains unchanged.

Students sitting for the JCE exams and administrators are expected to report to their designated examination centers at the specified time.

However, the ministry has clarified that all other classes, except those sitting for the JCE exams, will observe the Eid Ul Adha holiday.

This decision ensures that students not participating in the exams can celebrate the holiday while those taking the exams can complete their assessments without disruption.

The ministry’s decision underscores the importance of maintaining the academic calendar and ensuring that students’ education is not unduly affected by holidays.

Students and educators are expected to adhere to the examination schedule to avoid any disruptions to the assessment process.
