Malawi Nurses PLAN TO HOLD NATIONWIDE DEMONSTRATIONS ON NOVEMBER 29 TO FORCE THE GOVERNMENT TO RECRUIT THEM

Written by Cornelius Wa Mapira

We are in a democratic nation and that holding demonstrations are provided for in our constitution.

However, the following facts should be considered:

Government trains all sorts of cadres i.e. doctors, nurses, economist, engineers, teachers, Social Workers and many more not for its absorption alone but for other sectors too like the private sector, Religious Organisations, Civil Society Sectors etc.

Government is not the only employer that people should always look forward to Employment.

Elsewhere employers recruit new staffs based on a few things among them is when there is enough money to pay salaries for new staffs.

The government there is no legal documents which are binding government to employ these nurses. Lastly, can I give free advice to the said nurses that don’t be lazy in seeking employment, apart from the government you can also be employed elsewhere
