FIFA President Gianni Infantiano

KAMPALA-(MaraviPost)-The World Football Governing Body, FIFA, President, Gianni Infantiano, has promised that his Association will construct one FIFA Standard stadium in each of African countries.

The FIFA boss was speaking in Lomumbashi, Uganda during the eighth anniversary celebrations of the Ugandan Premier League Side, TP Mazembe.

Infantiano further said it is in FIFA’s plans to develop standards, infrastructure and administration of football in Africa.

Before Uganda, Infantiano was expected to visit Malawi on 27th November, 2019 but the visit was cancelled at an eleventh hour because Kamuzu International Airport is currently undergoing maintenance works which would not make it possible for the jet that is flying Infantiano and his crew to touch down easily.

Infantiano, who is Swiss-Italian national, ascended to FIFA Presidency in 2016. He took over from Sepp Blatter who served on the position for about three consecutive terms.
