Shame!! Malawi Govt accused of distributing rotten maize in Dowa

DODMA distributed rotten maize in Dowa

DOWA-(MaraviPost)-People affected with hunger in the central district of Dowa have express annoyance after receiving rotten maize from Malawi government through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DODMA).

Affected families in the district told Zodiak radio that they returned rotten maize.

The recipients at Nachisaka EPA offices to return the rotten Maize.

Beneficiaries expressed his anger over government’s response to the hunger crisis in the area.

They however described the received maize as inedible as it is rotten and mixed with maize bran.

“We’ve now known that government is not concerned about the hunger problem in our areas. We initially thought government wanted to help us but with what has happened, we have lost trust in our leaders,” he said.

When asked to comment of the matter, government officials have refused to say anything on the matter.

DODMA is yet to respond on the matter.
