BLANTYTRE-(MaraviPost)-Chisomo children’s club a community based organization is calling for urgent assistance from all well wishers to help the club with protective equipments utilized to stop the spread of deadly corona virus disease (COVID- 19).

Project officer for the club Willard James Yambani said the status quo is a problem of lacking equipments such as water buckets, sanitizer, soap, mouth masks, gloves and utensils.

Yambani furthermore added that water and electricity bills are other stumbling blocks affecting the entity as currently Blantyre water board has cut off water supply as a result of outstanding bills.

He also pointed out teaching and learning materials remain a challenge to both teachers and learners respectively.

“We have problems to run daily operations like feeding the needy kids as we often run short of food. Clothes for the underprivileged, sports kits for sports disciplines such as football, netball, chess, bawo, volleyball, basketball, draft and fly lack support.  We don’t have international community to assist and rely upon local well wishers who seldom visit us with assistance,” he explains.

He also disclosed that part of the wall fence collapsed during the rainy season needs cement and bricks to reconstruct the fence and the infrastructure has got primary and secondary classes.
