LIMPOPO-(MaraviPost)-A 43-year-old man in Limpopo was stoned to death and set ablaze by angry mob after a prophet pointed him out as one of the men behind another man’s death.

Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo confirmed the news in a statement.

According to TimesLive, residents of Tzaneen, Limpopo contributed R10 each to consult a prophet following death of 23-year-old Tsebo Malatji, who was found hanging from a tree on December 23.

Reports revealed that the said prophet allegedly identified two men as the suspects responsible for the death of the young man which led to residents running berserk, killing one person and torching houses and cars.

When police arrived on the scene, the mob had already dispersed and cases of murder, malicious damage to property and arson were opened although no one has been arrested in connection to the incident.

Police have pleaded with community members to always report issues to police and not to take the law in their hands.

Police also asked anyone with information which can lead to arrest of the perpetrators arrest to contact their nearest police station.
