Breaking Now: Malawi President announces three cases of Coronavirus in the Country

LILONGWE, MaraviPost: Malawi is no longer FREE of Coronavirus as President Peter Mutharika has just announced that Malawi has now recorded three positive cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The President made the announcement in a Special Address to the Nation that lasted one minute and 23 seconds on MBCTV.

He said the three cases have been confirmed in Lilongwe. Mutharika said one of the patients is a 63-year-old who had recently travelled to India. The other two are her relation and her domestic worker

The President has announced that Malawi has confirmed 3 cases:  An Indian Lady who returned from India. The lady confirmed to have come in contact with a Covid-19 relative. She went into self-quarantine upon return during which time she developed symptoms of the disease.

The other affected is a relative in that house and the third is a maid in that house.

The three cases are being managed by health personnel.

The President advises Malawians to adhere to preventive measures as the disease is preventable.

The President has called upon Malawians not to panic.

He has not announced any more measures of lockdown but says he will be addressing the nation again in due course to announce further measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
