The Supreme Court of Appeal has refused to grant an injunction to former president Peter Mutharika’s security aide, Norman Chisale, who had sought the court’s relief following his multiple arrests within a short period.
Among others, Chisale is answering fraud and money laundering charges in relation to the importing of cement using the former president’s TPIN and another case of attempted murder in which he is alleged to have shot a woman in Chimwankhunda, Blantyre.

Mr Norman Chisale was also charged with the murder of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) director of corporate affairs Issa Njaunju.
Chisale, who is also answering other two charges of attempted murder and fraud and money laundering, has been remanded at Maula Prison pending trial. It this charge his third arrest that triggered the request for an injunction as Malawi Police are determined to keep him jailed while awaiting trial.
