MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Presidebt Lazarus Chakwera has advised women in the country to be organized and engage in various economic activities to improve their living standard and that of their families.
Chakwera made the remarks on Saturday during an interface with Rumphi Women Leaders at Mzuzu State Lodge in Mzuzu City.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Malawi said his administration has put in place deliberate policies aimed at economically empowering the lives of women and that of their families.
Chakwera however challenged the women to be organized by working together to discover their purpose in society.
He also encouraged the women to venture into farming to ensure food security at both national and household level.
“Some of you have the capacity to venture into mega farming. Even the World Bank is ready to support women to venture into farming but you need to be organized,” he said.
Rumphi District Women Chairlady Tembo hailed President Chakwera for all development projects taking place in the district and Malawi in particular.
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Regional Chairman North North Kezzie Kazambala Msukwa encouraged the gathering to have faith in a second term for the Chakwera administration in order to continue developing Malawi.
“I urge you all to love Chakwera and loving Chakwera means giving him a vote to continue developing the country,” he said.
