Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints partners with Malawi Govt in Chambu Primary School blocks construction

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In line with President Lazarus Chakwera’s vision on the enhancement of quality education, the Ministry of Education has today received Two school blocks, twelve toilets, four birth rooms, and solar-powered water systems which, Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has built.

Receiving the facilities on behalf of the Malawi Government, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Alfred Jiya, commended the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the project.

Jiya who was also the guest of Honour said the building of the new school blocks will help to improve education in his area.

“I am over the moon first because we are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have addressed the problems that the jumbo area school was encountering once they did not have potable water.

“The second thing is that the classrooms were not enough for the 300 or 3000 Plus learners,” said Jiya.

Commenting on the project, John Victor Yohane, District President of Lilongwe and Kasungu said his church decided to donate these facilities after noting that learners were having problems accessing better education.

Chambu Primary School Headteacher Zione Kagwira has since commended the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saint for the facilities.
