ITF urges Malawi youth to take a lead role in cleaning up the environment

International Tree Foundation (ITF) has call upon youth in the country to take leading role in conserving the environment. The call was made on Wednesday at Kawale Counselling Adolescent Youth Organisation (CAYO) in the area of Tradition Authority Tsabango, Lilongwe.

Director of ITF Andy Egan said, he is pleased with the way youth in Malawi are doing by taking a leading role to clean up  and reinforce their community.

 

“I really inspired by youth`s passion and commitment to conserve environment and clean up the community. Taking care of the surrounding helps to have clean water air as well as over coming deforestation  and climate change in Malawi,” Egan

He further ask Government, companies and people to partner with ITF in order to appreciate how important in our everyday living. So, that we can work hand in hand in conserve environment.

Manager for Lilongwe Wildlife Centre Clement Manjaalera said it is good to conserve environment since it has mutual benefits.  “If we conserve fully in turn we will have lean air and safe water.  I encourage young people to learn from mistake by their grand parents and start strategies on deforestation to avoid climate change,” Manjaalera said

Thomson Chodzi  one of the member in community describe the program as fruitful and beneficial to human living and thanked ITF for imparting knowledge on how to take care of environment. Skill earn will help in ensuring that forest are preserved.

International Tree Foundation is UK based organisation working in seven African countries such as Cameroun, Ethiopia, Mali, Malawi, Kenya, DR Cong and Zambia.
