Malawi Police have caught up with MP Jessie Kabwira at Parliament building in Lilongwe and Maravi Post can confirm the Outspoken MP is indeed in Police Custody.
Jessie Kabwila and Chairperson of Legal Affairs Committee in Parliament, Louis Chakhwantha were arrested after Parliament adjourned.
Jessie Kabwira was hiding when someone tipped her off on Sunday that the Police had a warrant for her arrest. She must have thought she was safe at Parliament, but it was not to be.
Reports coming out of Parliament say none other than Akweni was one of the People consoling Jessie Kabwira.
Jessie Kabwila and PP Vice President Kamlepo Kalua were accused of inciting Mzuni students to riot today.
However she is being arrested because she was part of a WhatsApp group that was having discussions on how best to destabilize the Peter Mutharika administration.
Police confirm to Maravi Post that Jessie has been charged with Sedition and will most likely make bail by tomorrow.
